Dawson Fuss’ latest single “Free” lives up to its title.

A song written about coming out, finding self-love, and understanding, “Free” has more emotion wrapped into its three minutes and forty seven seconds than any single I’ve heard all year. With more and more artists changing their music to favor the radio or to fit social media standards, this track challenges all of that with it’s seldom tune. 

The lyrics to this song cut like a knife. Fuss expresses hiding from loved ones, using excuses to hide his emotions, and the process to finally being free. This single progresses between being very mellow at the beginning to much more expressive and buoyant, in a way mirroring the journey many individuals travel when coming out. 

“Free” was released on September 15th. It is painful, yet liberating.Take a listen, become a fan, and consider coming to terms with your authentic self.
